Cantor Gaming has recently signed a deal to theme video slots based on comic book characters. The first series to be interpreted is the popular, cult-classic comic book magazine, named Heavy Metal, where several of the characters will come to life and appear on the reels of the online video slots world.
Basically, this company will follow the steps that Cryptologic took in order to create the Marvel Comics series, such as The Incredible Hulk, Wolverine and Silver Surfer. The Managing Director, Manu Gambhir said that they have been thinking of developing Heavy Metal video slots for some time. Now, thanks to their design team having come up with a plan, the new series of games will be, says Gambhir, the most edgy and highly animated games yet.
Kevin Eastman, owner of Heavy Metal and co-creator of the “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles”, said that apart from the project with Cantor Gaming, he also plans to take his comic book series to a movie which is to be released in 2010. This will be an action from which everyone will benefit, as it will help raise the popularity of video slots in general and also make Cantor Gaming become a leading software developer and be able to compete with others like Microgaming, Cryptologic and Playtech.
Cantor Gaming’s main clients are from Europe, and its market there has grown tremendously the last couple of years. Its latest innovations include StatJack and Financial Odds. The first game is a card counter which tells the player the next best move to play against the dealer. Financial Odds is a combination of day-trading and online betting. This allows wagers to be on the movement of a stock in the next five minutes.
