The online slots site, Belle Rock Entertainment, begun their online slots tournament about two weeks ago and it will end in less than a week. The overall prize awarded is $35,000.

The tournament has three different parts; the daily free $500 Adventure FreeRoll given out ran from the 9th of May until the 18th. The maximum amount of winners per day was 25, of whom each received $10 and also they automatically were able to participate in the $5,000 Adventure Semi-Final that took place from the 19th to the 24th.

In an attempt to attract young people to church rites, an Italian priest has decided to celebrate mass in a slot machine venue. Don Duilio Testa, from Trasacco, came up with this idea after the realization that getting youngsters to mass is becoming harder and harder as years go by.

“The idea came to me as the youth are estranged from the church. The young people choose another way of life, other places for meetings and communication. This can be discos or gambling halls where they are without their parents and feel themselves comfortable," priest Don Duilio commented.

ATMs to be banned in slot machine venues

As announced by Australian Premier John Brumby, ATMs will be banned from slot machine halls in Victoria as of 2012, in an attempt to decrease the number of people with gambling addictions in the country.

“I’m not sure whether venues with multiple entertainment areas will be allowed to have ATMs in non-gaming areas,” Premier Brumby explained. However, he added that further details would be given when the laws were formally presented, including the fact that some venues will be exempted especially in towns where there are few ATMs.

CAST granted license to test slot machines

The Center for Advanced Software Technologies (CAST) of the Bangor University was authorized this week by the Gambling Commission to test gaming machines for regulations. The CAST is the first organization in the United Kingdom to be granted a license of this kind.

From now on, CAST’s Compliance Testing Laboratory will be able to test and certificate gambling devices such as slot machines, for casinos, betting shops, pubs, hotels and other gaming venues in the UK. Testers will certify randomness, social responsibility and fairness, among other features.
